gates / gates (push) Failing after 6m36s
Website: a page for people who search „felhő tárhely" (R-1033..R-1035)
Search Console (3 months, read 2026-10-14): 48 impressions, 1 click, average
position 73.6; the top query is „felhő tárhely" (19). No page on the site used
the phrase — Google was showing the home page by accident.

New pair /sajat-felho-tarhely + /en/own-cloud-storage: what cloud storage is and
the three ways to have one; what to do when the Google or iCloud storage is full
(the free clean-up first, linked to Google's and Apple's own help; the paid
options second); a five-year cost table; where the data sits; who should NOT
choose this; the closed test. Registered in site_gates.py TWINS/URL/SHELL, both
URLs in sitemap.xml (22 -> 24). FAQPage JSON-LD derived from the visible text.

Prices each read 2026-10-14 on the provider's own Hungarian page, with the URLs
and the date in an HTML comment and a visible „Árak" line: Google AI Plus (2 TB)
— Google One's 2 TB plan — 35 990 Ft/év (behind the „Éves" toggle; a plain fetch
sees only the monthly 3 590 Ft), iCloud+ 2 TB 4 490 Ft/hó, Microsoft 365 Családi
(2 TB shared, no longer 1 TB per person) 46 499 Ft/év.

Felhom's own cost follows what the site already said (operator ruling): machine
and install one-off, power, off-site storage monthly by volume, operation
OPTIONAL, no fee during the closed test. Power is stated as an idle measurement
(nyugalmi állapotban 7-9 W, ~75 kWh/év, from audits/night-power-2026-10-13) and
the page says a year with daytime use is more; no daytime figure and no
electricity tariff are given, because neither is measured or sourced.

FAQ corrected (both languages, JSON-LD re-derived): the cost answer carried
unsourced, undated prices and summed Spotify and a password manager into a
storage comparison; and the page contradicted itself on electricity („havi
néhány ezer forint" vs „évi 5.000–15.000 Ft"). App count 60 -> 62 in the four
places that were stale.

Three defects found on the rendered page and fixed: a .vs-row link fell back to
the browser-default blue (contrast 1.99 -> 7.17); 24px of horizontal scroll at
390px because .method-pros li is a nowrap flex row and the new items contain
links (each item's content wrapped in one span); .info-card and .method-pros
were scoped to the pages that first used them. site.css ?v=31 on all 26 pages.
The shared .content-section padding was NOT changed — it is identical on every
page; the new page only lacked the alt-bg alternation, and now has it.

R-1033 the apps page lags the catalog by two apps (plant-it, wger); R-1034 gate
17 checks the FAQ JSON-LD on two hard-coded pages only; R-1035 the SEO result,
with dated checks on 2026-11-11 and 2026-12-09.

I offer turnkey set-ups: I choose the hardware, set up the software, take care of the backups, and keep an eye on the system all the time. The aim is simple: instead of the big cloud providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple), you keep your data on a server in your own home – without having to be an expert yourself."

Privacy-minded people who do not want Google or Microsoft to have access to their documents. Media fans who want their own Netflix- or Spotify-like system for their films and music. Small businesses that need document management, an internal wiki or appointment booking – under their own control."

I offer an open, Docker-based system instead, where the catalog's apps install in a few clicks – from a photo manager to a media server to a password manager. A NAS offers a limited choice of apps and depends on the maker's software updates. With Felhom you choose from 62 apps, and if something is missing, I look at whether it can be added."

They are quiet, energy-saving (15-35 W) and compact – one fits on the shelf next to the router. If you want more storage (for a film library, say), you can add a NAS or external hard drives. More detailed set-ups are on the Technology page. To estimate how big a machine your own apps need, use the Which machine do I need? page."

The measurement was taken at rest: a year with daytime use comes to more. A larger, older machine asks for more: on an HP t740, with 11 apps running and a virtual machine alongside them, I measured around 24 watts. The exact figure depends on what you run on it."

When the power comes back, the machine starts, and the system and all the apps start with it. I have tested this with real power cuts: the machine recovered by itself every time, in a few minutes. If reliability is critical, I can also suggest an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to bridge a few minutes without power."

How fast photos, films and documents load depends on your router and your cabling. If you also want to reach your server from elsewhere (from work or on holiday, say), the upload speed matters: at least 10 Mbps is recommended, and more is better."

Jellyfin/Plex – your own Netflix for films and series. Nextcloud – store and share files (instead of Google Drive). Vaultwarden – a password manager for the whole family. Paperless-ngx – scan documents and make them searchable. If something is not on the list, ask – I will look at whether it can join the catalog."

The Felhom Dashboard, though, has one shared household password today – there are no separate family accounts on the Dashboard yet. The Dashboard is where you install apps and manage backups; for everyday use (photos, files) you use the apps' own accounts."

I help with the move. How long it takes depends on how much data there is – moving a few hundred GB of photos can take a day or two, but afterwards the system works just the way you are used to from the cloud service."

Your server is inside your home – I open no port there, and from outside it is reached only through an encrypted tunnel. Most home servers do not face targeted attacks; what they meet is automated scripts trying their luck. The right configuration protects very well against those."
}

{
"@type": "Question",
"name": "Can you get at my data?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",
"text": "That is an important, fair question, and I answer it honestly. For support and maintenance I normally have remote access to your server – as any IT provider has to the systems it manages. I need it to check backups, install updates and fix faults. The key to your remote backup, though, only you know: the recovery code appears once, on your screen, and I keep no copy of it. So I cannot read the remote backup either. Important: unlike the big cloud providers, Felhom does no algorithmic analysis of your data and no profiling for advertising, and your data leaves your home only encrypted (the remote backup)."
}

"@type": "Question",
"name": "What if someone breaks into my network?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",
"text": "The server's apps run in isolated containers, which limits the damage if one app has a weakness. Regular updates, and having no open port at home, keep the risk down. An encrypted copy of your backups is also kept in a separate place (off-site) – so even after a ransomware attack, there is a copy stored far away."
}

{
"@type": "Question",
"name": "Is this all right under the GDPR?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",
"text": "For personal use at home the GDPR does not apply directly (under the \"household exemption\"). Your data lives at home, on your own box. The box encrypts the backup copies before they leave your home; they are stored at Hetzner in the EU (in Germany), and the storage provider cannot read them. Remote access goes through Cloudflare's network, so Cloudflare could technically see that traffic. If you use it as a small business, the privacy notice says who handles what, and where. I am not a lawyer, of course: for a specific legal question, ask a professional."
}
},
{
"@type": "Question",
"name": "How are backups done?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",
"text": "I follow the 3-2-1 backup rule: 3 copies of the data, on 2 different kinds of storage, 1 of them far away. It is an industry standard the largest companies use too. On the box this means three levels: a backup on the box, a second copy on a second drive, and an encrypted copy on remote storage. The backups run automatically, at night. Databases and files are backed up incrementally – only the changes are saved, which saves space and time. The details are on the Backups page."
}
},
{
"@type": "Question",
"name": "What happens if a hard drive fails?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",

}

{
"@type": "Question",
"name": "How do I know the backups really work?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",

If there is any problem – a failed backup, low storage, or the server not answering – I am notified at once, and so are you when it matters. This is not a \"set it up and hope it works\" arrangement – I watch it actively, and I also run restore tests from time to time."

{
"@type": "Question",
"name": "What is an \"off-site backup\"?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",
"text": "An off-site (remote) backup means a copy of your data also exists in a physically different place. On a Felhom box that is storage I provide, where the copy goes encrypted. If disaster struck at home (fire, theft, flood), the remote copy would still be there. The off-site backup is always encrypted – nobody at the remote place can read your data, even if they can reach the files."

If you decide you no longer want the service, the box keeps working on your home network, but you no longer get updates, monitoring or support. Remote access and the remote backup are part of the service: what happens to them, we agree when you cancel. No minimum term, no cancellation fee. If you have the technical know-how (or have picked it up along the way), you can even keep running the system yourself. The data and the apps stay with you."

That is one of the biggest advantages of open-source software: no vendor lock-in. By contrast, when Google or Apple shuts down a service, your data disappears along with it."

Today's prices for the 2 TB plans: Google AI Plus (2 TB) 35,990 Ft a year (Google One's 2 TB plan), iCloud+ 4,490 Ft a month, Microsoft 365 Family 46,499 Ft a year. I read all three on the provider's own Hungarian page on 14 October 2026. Over five years that comes to between 179,950 and 269,400 Ft. With a machine of your own you pay for the machine once, then the electricity: 7-9 W measured at rest, about 75 kWh a year, a few thousand forints; with daytime use it is more. Installation is a one-off cost, off-site backup storage has a monthly fee, and running the box is optional. If you fit under 200 GB, the cloud provider stays cheaper. I wrote the full comparison out on the Your own cloud storage at home page."

The apps are free to use, and almost all of them are open source – there is no licence fee for the apps. (A few have paid extras, such as Plex Pass; those are optional.) It is on every Felhom box, quietly in the background; you do not need to deal with it. It makes the most important safety features possible: A backup before each update – before an app is updated, a fresh backup is made, and if the new version does not start, the box puts the previous one back by itself. The whole system can be backed up and restored – not only your data: the whole box goes into a backup too. Clean separation – the control layer and your apps run apart, which makes the system more stable and safer."

<p>Felhom.eu is a service for households in Hungary that helps install and run a home server. I offer turnkey set-ups: I choose the hardware, set up the software, take care of the backups, and keep an eye on the system all the time.</p>
<p>The aim is simple: instead of the big cloud providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple), you keep your data on a server in your own home – without having to be an expert yourself.</p>

<p>I measured it. An <strong>N100 mini PC</strong> draws 7-9 watts at rest, and 66 watt-hours over a normal night. That comes to roughly <strong>75 kWh</strong> a year, a few thousand forints on the electricity bill. The measurement was taken at rest: a year with daytime use comes to more.</p>
<p>A larger, older machine asks for more: on an HP t740, with 11 apps running and a virtual machine alongside them, I measured around 24 watts. The exact figure depends on what you run on it.</p>

Your server is inside your home – I open no port there, and from outside it is reached only through an encrypted tunnel.</p>

<p>That is an important, fair question, and I answer it honestly.</p>
<p>For support and maintenance I normally have remote access to your server – as any IT provider has to the systems it manages. I need it to check backups, install updates and fix faults.</p>
<p>The key to your remote backup, though, <strong>only you know</strong>: the recovery code appears once, on your screen, and I keep no copy of it. So I cannot read the remote backup either.</p>
<p>Important: unlike the big cloud providers, Felhom does <strong>no algorithmic analysis of your data</strong> and no profiling for advertising, and your data leaves your home only encrypted (the remote backup).</p>

<p>The server's apps run in isolated containers, which limits the damage if one app has a weakness. Regular updates, and having no open port at home, keep the risk down.</p>

<p>For personal use at home the GDPR does not apply directly (under the "household exemption"). <p>The cost has two parts:</p>
<p><strong>One-off costs:</strong> the hardware (80,000–400,000+ Ft, depending on the set-up) and the installation fee. You buy the hardware – it is yours, for good.</p>
<p><strong>A monthly management fee:</strong> for monitoring, support, updates and backup supervision. It depends on the package you choose.</p>

<p>It depends how much data you have. Today's prices for the 2 TB plans: <strong>Google AI Plus (2 TB) 35,990 Ft a year</strong> (Google One's 2 TB plan), <strong>iCloud+ 4,490 Ft a month</strong>, <strong>Microsoft 365 Family 46,499 Ft a year</strong>. I read all three on the provider's own Hungarian page on 14 October 2026.</p>
<p>Over five years that comes to between 179,950 and 269,400 Ft. With a machine of your own you pay for the machine once, then the electricity: 7-9 W measured at rest, about 75 kWh a year, a few thousand forints; with daytime use it is more. Installation is a one-off cost, off-site backup storage has a monthly fee, and running the box is optional.</p>
<p>If you fit under 200 GB, the cloud provider stays cheaper. I wrote the full comparison out on the <a href="/en/own-cloud-storage">Your own cloud storage at home</a> page.</p>

<p>The server's base is <strong>Proxmox VE</strong> – a professional, Debian-based virtualisation system the whole Felhom system is built on. <p>Proxmox is a professional virtualisation base – the same kind of technology data centres and companies use. It is on every Felhom box, quietly in the background; you do not need to deal with it. It makes the most important safety features possible:</p>
<p><svg class="ico" aria-hidden="true"><use href="/assets/icons.svg?v=1#i-shield"/></svg> <strong>A backup before each update</strong> – before an app is updated, a fresh backup is made, and if the new version does not start, the box puts the previous one back by itself.</p>
